MagCamWizard Base Plate and Grip Extension Disassembly Tool Demo
Every Glock owner who has tried to remove a magazine baseplate knows the problem. The locking tab is just stiff enough to require force. A flat-head screwdriver slips and scratches the finish. A punch bends the tab. A pair of pliers crushes the polymer. The "official" method requires a specialty tool most owners don't have, so people improvise — and improvised tools damage magazines.
The MagCamWizard solves it. A patented, precision-cammed tool that applies safe, even pressure to the exact location the baseplate needs, releasing the lock cleanly every time. No prying. No bending. No scratches. No broken tabs. Just a clean release, every magazine, every time. From $19.95.
Glock built the magazine to lock together permanently under normal use — and they were right to. A baseplate that pops off mid-draw or under recoil is a disaster.
The problem is that intentional release requires defeating a system designed to stay locked. Without the right tool, owners reach for screwdrivers that slip, punches that bend tabs, pliers that crush polymer, or improvised tools that are dangerous.
The cost of damage isn't always visible immediately. A bent tab might still work for months before the magazine starts failing to lock the baseplate. A scratched magazine might still feed for years but loses resale value. A broken tab requires a full magazine replacement — at $25-$45 per Glock magazine, the cost adds up fast.
A $19.95 MagCamWizard pays for itself the first time it saves a magazine.
The MagCamWizard uses two precision cams that engage the magazine's locking surfaces with controlled, even pressure. You position the tool, squeeze the handles together, and the cams apply force at exactly the right angle to release the baseplate lock without stressing the magazine polymer.
The release is instant. The baseplate slides forward as designed. The locking tab is undamaged. The polymer is unmarked.
The MagCamWizard also includes an inner spring plate displacement tool that helps lift the metal spring plate inside the magazine. With both tools, a full magazine disassembly takes about ten seconds.

Will the MagCamWizard work on aftermarket Glock magazines?
Most aftermarket magazines that match factory dimensions will work. Magpul PMAG GL9 magazines generally work well.
Will it scratch or damage my magazine?
No. Used correctly, the MagCamWizard leaves no marks.
Will it work on .380 (G42) and slim 9mm (G43/43X/48) magazines?
Yes. The MagCamWizard is designed to work across the Glock magazine line.
How long does the tool last?
With normal use, effectively forever. Armorers using it daily report years of service.
Is the inner spring plate displacement tool included?
Yes. Both tools are included in every MagCamWizard package.
Can I use the MagCamWizard on non-Glock magazines?
The tool is designed specifically for Glock magazine geometry and may not work properly on other pistol magazines.
The MagCamWizard is a maintenance tool. Magazine disassembly should be performed on an unloaded magazine, with no ammunition present in the work area, and away from any loaded firearm.
Beyond tool safety, the four rules of firearm safety apply. Treat every firearm as if it's loaded. Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy. Keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to fire. Be certain of your target and what lies beyond it. Always secure your firearms and magazines so they remain accessible only to you.
